Monoprint ImageMono printing is a fascinating printing process, which can be challenging, but is also very rewarding. This workshop will guide you through how to lay colour on the printing plate, and then the process of layering different ‘masks’ – inked and un-inked – to build up a final image. The ‘masks’ used in the demonstration will be dried grasses, flower petals, lace, feathers and leaves. Inks, paper, rollers and printing plates will be provided. I hope in the time provided each of you will take home at least two A4 prints. There is a huge selection of found objects that can be used as masks, corrugated cardboard, embossed wallpaper, fabrics, netting, etc, so please bring along whatever inspires you. As we will be using a table top press, please don’t bring sharp or ‘bulky’ objects such as buttons, glass beads, paper clips and the like. Materials to bring: One Small Cutting Mat Craft Knife Sketchbook, Pencils, Rubber, Ruler Found objects for masks. Workshop cost: £30 for Members and Friends, £40 for Non-members. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided but please bring a packed lunch.
