I originally trained in Sculpture at Bretton Hall in Yorkshire, before going on to Goldsmiths, London where I took a post graduate mixed media course. This acquainted me with many materials and gave me a much more rounded, technical expertise. Following that I completed an apprenticeship with a professional landscape painter which gave me a valuable experience in the day to day business of being an artist. I then completed an intensive course in Advanced Paint Techniques which ignited my passion for the chemistry of painting and the way materials behave together: combining two or more materials can produce a totally new one. In 2009 I graduated from the University of Hertfordshire with an MA in Art Therapy. This has helped greatly with the depth of connection and thinking that now goes in to my working process. I have been a practicing professional artist since 1999.
