Clare Trowell
The ordinariness of the work-a-day life intrigues me. Recently I moved to a historic Cambridgeshire village, Hemingford Grey, near the river. Living there, I have been drawing what I see around me: ancient buildings, animal and bird life representing any day in the village. I have always enjoyed drawing and working with a variety of media. Primarily I make prints, using the medium of linocut. I love the challenge of reversing and abstracting my subjects. My rules are just that I must have seen the subject of the art work and then that I need to capture this as a print.
