Painting & Printmaking

I work on paper, usually starting by rolling or wiping printing ink directly onto the surface. Some areas are screen-printed using paper transfers to create background shapes with sharp edges and overlapping colours. Layers are built up, blended and then sometimes rubbed away, often over weeks or months to create rich textures and colours. Figures are cut from lino and then hand pressed onto the image and further marks are added with the edge of a roller.

Current themes are around water and the life both above and below the waterline

I exhibit with Byard Art in Cambridge and the Cambridge Drawing Society. I welcome visitors during Open Studios and also at other times by appointment.
