John Glover
I am a graduate of the Glasgow School of Art, Jordanhill College of Education, and the Open University. I worked for ten years as a freelance book and magazine illustrator for companies such as Hamlyns, Oxford University Press and IPC magazines producing a range of work from book jackets to educational and fairytale.
I have since concentrated on commissioned portraits and landscape. I have painted people from all walks of life- "official" portraits of Chairmen of Councils, Masters of colleges, Headmasters, Chief executives to smaller more intimate portraits of individuals or family groups.
I love painting the hills and sea of South West Scotland, the Norfolk coast and the vast East Anglian skies.
I have exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery, the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, The Royal Society of Marine Artists, the Pastel Society, the Royal Society of Painters in Watercolour and the Institute of East Anglian Artists.
