Printmaking, watercolour and oils
Haslingfield

I have no formal art qualifications, but over the last few years I have rarely been without a sketchbook at my side and since retiring from full time work I have been exploring the uses of different media. Much of my inspiration comes from rural and urban landscapes in the UK and overseas, where I record the images of people and their environment in the form of quick ink sketches and watercolour washes. These are the basis of future paintings in oil, watercolour and mixed media. Some of my work also has a more light-hearted touch, creating images to make people smile.

This year my work has extended to the creation of prints facilitated by time spent at the Curwen Print Study Centre where I will complete the CPSC certificate in printmaking this autumn. This has enabled me to explore exciting new techniques in the use of line, colour and texture and it is an area I plan to focus on over the next few years.
