Monica Alikoviene
Monica Alikoviene is a Cambridge-based artist who finds inspiration in emotions, nostalgic memories, and small, often-overlooked moments of everyday life. Painting is her way of holding on to those precious experiences—onto feelings and stories that might otherwise slip away.
Using oils, Monica employs an indirect painting method to build up transparent layers, allowing light to seep through and create an illusion of depth and luminosity.
Monica is an active member of the Cambridge Drawing Society and regularly exhibits in their biannual shows. In 2024, her work won the Public Favourite Vote at the Spring Exhibition. That same year, she was selected as a finalist at the Art Unlimited International Competition and exhibited her work at The Malthouse Gallery. Her paintings are held in private collections across Europe and the United States.
Currently, Monica’s paintings are exhibited in the Range Exhibition in Cambridge. She enjoys sharing her artistic journey through exhibitions, workshops, live demonstrations, and one-on-one interactions with collectors, where she shares the inspiration behind her work and fosters deeper connections with her audience.
