Godfrey J Curtis

I am intrigued by light effects, – particularly, in recent years in back-lit images.  My subjects range from natural history to landscape by way of set pieces of still life, but always trying to catch the light cast in the picture.  Latterly I have become interested in Napoleonic and earlier ships together with other marine settings, and from leaning towards depictive presentation, find the intricacies of rigging detail a challenge.  I work mainly in watercolour although occasionally in oils.
