Megan Ecclestone
Having taught Art at secondary level for many years, helping and encouraging students to pursue their own Art careers, it’s been great getting back to finding, and enjoying my own personal art since retiring.
My fascination is with patterns in nature, and despite the range of possibilities this offers, I am repeatedly drawn to the shapes and surfaces of rocks or water. Cropped closeup compositions enable me to explore detaiI on a larger scale. I enjoy exploiting inherent linear patterns. The vast range of acrylic colours, densities and mediums available provide an endless source for experimentation. I like my Art to begin with a coastal path, beach, or river walk, and to end with an abstract composition rooted in its origin, but suggestive of other forms, other places. I hope I engage the viewer in a fresh visual experience of nature.
